Care Instructions

For optimal care of silk clothing, these steps will help preserve the fabric's beauty and extend its lifespan

Hand Washing

  1. Fill a basin with cool water and add a pH-neutral detergent, free of enzymes. Avoid using bleach and fabric softeners.
  2. Turn the silk garment inside out to minimize friction damage and soak it in the water.
  3. Gently swirl the silk garment in the water to clean it. Avoid scrubbing and rubbing to not damage the cloth.
  4. Rinse with clean cool water to ensure soap has been removed completely.

Drying

  1. Drain the water and gently press the cloth to remove access water. Refrain from twisting or wringing the garment as this can damage the fabric.
  2. Air dry the garment by hanging it or laying it flat on a towel away from direct sunlight. Avoid using washing machines and dryers

Iron

  1. Steam iron silk garments to remove wrinkles and creases, enhancing the fabric's luster. Additionally, the hot steam eliminates odors, kills bacteria, and nourishes the textile fibers, allowing them to regain their natural shape. Ensure that you hold the steamer at least 4 inches away from the cloth and keep it moving to avoid damaging the cloth. Do not use a normal iron.
  2. Store silk items using wide hangers with ample space between them to prevent bunching or creasing in the first place

Silk pillowcases, like your other bed linens, come into direct contact with your skin everywhere night, so it's important to wash them regularly — typically about every seven to ten days.
